Norton Motorcycles Guidelines ~ supporting the retail brand relaunch.
New brand, new standards, new way to experience guidelines.
Project Overview
As part of the sweeping relaunch of the eponymous marque under the ownership of TVS, I was invited to organise and design a series of web-based guidelines.
The programme, covering everything from customer experience to merchandise, features the new brand identity’s visual language through a distinctly modern, elevated UX designed by Meda.
Each section sets out the most important information that the brand’s retailers need to understand leading up to the retail relaunch.
The web-based guidelines will support the on-going Retail Planning programme across the UK and Europe, currently being undertaken by Meda in collaboration with the Norton global team and Vizona, and into trading as the network expands in scale and number of locations.
My contribution to this
I'm a big advocate for releasing guidelines (literally and digitally) from PDF's and files where the information users need goes to die.
So when Norton came asking for a set of global guidelines as a PDF?
Fortunately I was able to convince them to ditch that (after some really nice print-based design work, so not all wasted) to adopt a web-based build and entirely browser driven.
I built the site architecture, created the UX based on thier new global brand identity, structured and wrote some of the content and project-managed the programme to launch.
